
Tobacco is the reclusive main man behind Black Moth Super Rainbow, the experimental pop group from Pittsburgh who struck a fuzzy chord last year with Dandelion Gum. For his first solo record, he transplants his band’s pastoral psychedelia into a more ominous urban setting: Moody melodies that echo the sing-song confections of Air or Boards of Canada are run through a lo-fi blender and poured over jagged hip-hop beats that radiate mischief and dread.
